Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.
– Helen Keller

In December 2013, my partner Adam and I embarked on a two year journey around Europe and Japan. I set off with only seven kilos in my bag (it’s a few kilos heavier now), Adam with ten.

In Australia I had been teaching Japanese and Adam was working as an engineer. About 2 and a half years ago, almost a year into our relationship, we decided to pay off our debts and madly save for this trip -one that we hardly planned!

So far we have spent almost 2 months in Spain (where we walked the Camino de Santiago), 3 weeks in Portugal and a month travelling through Morocco.

Our next destination is Turkey where we hope to walk the Lycian Way before we continue backpacking around Eastern and Central Europe.

Towards the end of 2014 we hope to move to Japan where we will use our working holiday visas to teach English.

  1. Hi Bec and Adam. Many times we have read blogs which we have enjoyed but yours is the first that we have been truly thankful it was written. So thank you so much for writing this blog! Tahnee and I feel as though we have walked along with you on your journey so far. You have inspired us to take the path less traveled and have changed the whole way we are looking at approaching our world trip at the end of the year.
It has given us much pleasure to read about your amazing adventures and journeys, through all the highs and swollen ankles. We wish you both safe passage, good health and excitement on the path ahead. Look forward to the next stage of your roving about. Cool runinngs! Liam and Tahnee.
